Flynn Battaglia Principals Lauren M. Kaufmann, AIA and Chrisopher Less, AIA, LEEP AP represented the firm at this summer's NYAPPA (New York Chapter of the Association of Physical Plant Administrators - an association representing professionals in educational facilities management from both private and public institutions). They thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to exchange ideas with current FBA clients, reconnect with previous clients, and forge brand new relationships.
Every minute of the NYAPPA Conference was scheduled with informative sessions in focused tracks, updates by the leadership of SUNY, DASNY, and SUNY OSC, and informal interactions on the convention floor. One theme that emerged was the importance of understanding the data now available to campus leadership for better building utilization, energy efficiency, and various other metrics now widely accessible. The design tracks were filled with remarkable stories of exciting projects and forward-thinking leaders finding unique ways to deliver high-quality education in diverse settings.
As with all conferences, FBA will use the insights and inspiration gained from attending NYAPPA to learn and grow as professionals and as a team.
