Thomas Tischer Visitor Center
Eastman Museum
Completed October 2020
The Eastman Museum, a National Historic Landmark since 1966, is one of the most respected photography and film museums in the world and also houses the legacy collections of its namesake and is partially housed in his former mansion. Prior to this project, the museum had evolved over many decades into having a circuitous and inefficient circulation system based on six different entrances and several security checkpoints staffed at different times. The project aimed to centralize circulation to one point serving staff and all visitors, including school groups, as well as centralize admissions and coat check and use this new hub of activity as the location of an enhanced café and gift shop.
