SUNY Buffalo State
Building 50 Renovations

Ongoing

Building 50 on the SUNY Buffalo State University campus was previously utilized as a warehouse facility for surplus and seasonal storage. The high-bay building is approximately 82,000 square feet with an additional 10,000 square feet of vacated office space, the interior of which was stripped to its shell. The warehouse required reinforcement to bring the structure up to Level 4 Seismic Use for the University Police Department. The project created a clean warehouse space for Campus Services and reorganized the Campus Grounds Department storage and workshops. The improvements to the site will create a physical pedestrian link to the campus across Grant Street.

During design, the project was split into two phases of documents and construction. The first phase included the structural and mechanical improvements to the building. The second phase, scheduled to be completed in 2024, renovates the interior spaces and includes site work.
