Volunteerism at Flynn Battaglia Architects

Flynn Battaglia Architects values community involvement and volunteerism as an act of professionalism and community building, just as much as we do our architectural and planning projects. Staff members are encouraged to participate in their respective communities be it coaching little league, leading government approval boards, or being vocal advocates for the built and natural environment.

Principals Peter Flynn and Ron Battaglia lead by example, such as being a founding member of Preservation Buffalo Niagara, committee member for NYS Council of the Arts, AIA National Vice President (2006), AIA National Diversity Committee (2003-06), to name a few. Both are active and vocal community members, standing up against a highway connector that would have bisected the lower west side in the 1970’s and another that would have divided downtown on Oak Street. Both advocate for preservation, smart growth and planning, and sustainable buildings and cities plus in former lives were assistant and head coaches of little league teams.
