New Angola Theater

The New Angola Theater, an integral part of the North Main Street Historical District of Angola, New York, was designed by architect George E. Eichenlaub and built in 1924 and has served as a local community hub ever since. In summer 2023, Flynn Battaglia completed a thorough existing conditions report that identified key areas for repair and restoration in order to comply with New York State building code, protect the historic nature of the building and prevent further deterioration, and improve the theatre experience for guests and patrons.

Following the report, New Angola Theater retained Flynn Battaglia Architects to provide design and construction services for the undertaking of these important renovations, which include roof repairs, structural reinforcement, accessibility, a new projection system, updated toilet rooms, interior plaster work and finishes, and a restored main entrance and marquee. Design work began in early 2024.
