The Historic Broadway Market, founded in 1879 by European immigrants, continues to serve Buffalo's East Side as a hub of local commerce. The current building, erected in 1956 and renovated in the mid 1980's, is slated for a new, complete building overhaul sponsored by Empire State Development. Flynn Battaglia Architects was selected to lead a design and engineering team for the redevelopment. The project is currently in the programming and concept phases, during which the design and leadership team has engaged with the local community and Market vendors.

The Broadway Market's design will focus on the preservation of key historic details while enhancing customer and vendor experiences through modern amenities and finishes.
