Flynn Battaglia Architects was founded in 1989 on the basis of the experience of the principal architects and staff in planning, project development, architecture and interior design. Firm Principals Ronald Battaglia and Peter Flynn utilize their complementary leadership, management and design experience to bring together the skills of our staff in service to the client. Through a focus on select markets in higher education, historic, housing and community facilities, the staff expertise has been broadened and developed to benefit clients.
PETER T. FLYNN, AIA
Design Principal
Peter Flynn is the Design Principal and co-founder of Flynn Battaglia Architects. In over 40 years of professional practice, his leadership has been crucial in design, management and preservation planning. His vision, creativity and design skills have resulted in successful historic sites, educational facilities, neighborhood plans, adaptive reuse and restoration of historic schools, churches, museums and housing.
CHRISTOPHER F. LESS, AIA LEED AP
Design Leader
Christopher Less is an award-winning architect with 39 years of experience in a range of project types including Higher Education, Science and Technology, Campus Planning, Healthcare and K-12 Education. Working within numerous and diverse client groups has given him the ability to interact in a highly collaborative fashion yielding innovative results. Chris brings his can-do attitude to every meeting and his ability to visualize the transformation of a project means he can create a clear picture for the client through computer rendering or hand sketches.
MICHAEL J. MEYER, RA
Senior Technical Architect
Michael Meyer has over forty years of experience in delivering design services to clients on a wide variety of project types. He has been involved in many aspects of the business including business development, project management, design and technical coordination and construction field administration. He is responsible in leading the design team to meet the client’s project objectives for technical quality. Mike’s technical expertise is appreciated by the rest of the office in ensuring the quality of drawings and specifications.
EMMA S. ECKERT, AIA
Project Architect
Emma brings a fresh new perspective to our design team with her insight in evolving building technologies and building information modelling techniques and capabilities. Emma is licensed in the State of New York; she is constantly trying to further her knowledge and exposure to new technologies and techniques in all our projects. In her time with Flynn Battaglia Architects, Emma has contributed in many different aspects of the design process from conceptual ideas to technical implementation. Her disciplined organization and leadership has led to project management roles and team leadership on key projects in the office.
AMY SCZEPANSKI
Designer
Amy is a recent graduate from Alfred State College, holding degrees in both Architecture and Interior Design. Her knowledge of construction systems and materials has made her a valuable part of our production team as well as her ability to quickly and accurately model and detail building elements. Amy has experienced many roles in the architectural profession through her time with the FBA team. She has gained both hands on experience and a strong sense of community and connection to the WNY area.
RONALD J. BATTAGLIA, FAIA
Managing Principal
Ronald Battaglia is the Managing Principal and co-founder of Flynn Battaglia Architects. He is responsible for the overall firm management and the successful integration of finance, talent management, and operations of the firm. In over 40 years of architectural work, Ron has seen many projects evolve from an idea to a physical change in the built environment. He has been key to coordinating between owners, complex architectural/engineering teams, financiers, politicians, regulatory agencies, contractors and construction managers.
NANCY REDEYE, ASSOC. AIA
Project Manager
Over her more than 25 years at FBA, Ms. Redeye has utilized her organizational skills to provide design and project management guidance for a variety of building types including commercial, historic preservation and educational. Whether large multi-million dollar assignments or small renovations for non-profit clients, she comprehends the complexities inherent in each design and construction process while focusing on meeting the established project goals and objectives. Nancy has a passion for creativity and color and she manages to incorporate her style into all of her projects.
LAUREN M. KAUFMANN, AIA
Project Manager
Lauren has experience working on a multitude of project types and in all aspects of design and construction administration. She is engaged in the entire architectural design process including coordination of consultants, presentations with clients, production of construction drawings and specifications, code analysis, and written reports. Maintaining communication lines between the design team and the client while keeping project schedules and budgets intact is one of Ms. Kaufmann’s many skills that has resulted in many successful projects. Her technical skills and knowledge allow her to bring concepts into functional designs.
MEGAN BROOKS
Project Manager & Production
Megan has been immersed in the architectural field doing all different things on projects from document production to code review and project management. She has completed many projects utilizing BIM or Building Information Modeling software. She mostly enjoys creating renderings and complete 3D models when clients need to apply for funding or community approvals. Megan is well versed in providing multiple schematic design options as well as document production.
AUBREY FAN
Designer
Aubrey brings a diverse background to FBA, including a former career in education and a wealth of travel and cultural experiences that inform her perspective on the built environment. She is most passionate about the puzzle and possibilities presented by different design solutions, along with the unique construction and challenges inherent to historic structures. Equally passionate about stainability via conservation and intelligent design, Aubrey sees her career at FBA as a means to promote equity in the built environment.
