This project entailed the complete restoration and rehabilitation of 75 year old K-8 school building. Approximately 7,000 sf of new space was added to house student commons/dining & special education space. The building has been designated "eligible" for the Historic Register by the State Historic Preservation Office and all work strictly conforms to Department of the Interior Preservation Standards. Some of this work included restoring the existing wood windows with new thermal glazing, refinishing existing wood doors, reusing the existing marble toilet partitions and refurbishing the original fresh air ventilation system for reuse with all new mechanical systems. Completed in the Spring of 2005, this 80,000 square foot building now has the capacity to serve over 750 students.
